  • Abhyanga: Abhyangam or abhyanga is a body massage with hot herbal oil, specially meant for the patient’s condition. This massage works due to the temperature of oil and the pressure applied to specific points. These points stimulate different energy centers. Its benefits include improved blood circulation, calming of nerves, strengthening joints, bones and muscles, nourishment of entire body, improved sleep and increased stamina. This is also helps in removing toxins from the body.
  • Njavarakizhi: By far, this is one of the most unique massages for the body. This Ayurvedic massage is offered to boost perspiration in order to remove toxins from the skin. It is performed by experts with great care. The body is given fomentation with a bolus of cooked Njavara rice which has therapeutic properties. This bolus is dipped in cow’s milk and a herbal paste made of kurunthothhi. Four such boluses are made and tied up in linen bags. The body is massaged with these boluses by two attendees standing on either side of the person. These are these applied to the body or specific part to boost the production of sweat. This also helps in revitalizing the senses. Especially useful for joint stiffness and prevents premature ageing.
