Alternative therapies like Meditation, Reiki, Yoga etc. have gone mainstream in the last three months during the ongoing lockdown. The demand for boosting immunity through homeopathy has witnessed a huge leap, since people are concerned about their health and want a robust system to ward off any infections. Plus, these therapies offer non-invasive and safe ways to boost immunity. Corporate honchos and people from all walks of life have been investing hugely by roping in experts for online meditation sessions and discourses. Teachers have undergone Reiki courses to help the students focus better during virtual classes by sending healing energy to them. Dr. Aditi Bhatnagar, a Homeopathic Physician, Lifestyle Management Consultant, Energy Healer, Reiki Healer and a Meditation Practitioner discusses how alternative medicines like Homeopathy have gone mainstream in the last three months.
Dr. Bhatnagar states that illnesses like asthma, other respiratory issues in children, pollen allergy, skin diseases, allergies due to exposure in the sun etc. have reduced considerably. People have already zeroed in on the fact that alternative medicines are a way of life. Everybody wants to be healthy and want the immunity up. Dr. Bhatnagar believes that by the time the lockdown is completely lifted in December or by early next year, people will completely settle for Homeopathy.
What is Homeopathy?
Homeopathy is a medical system based on the belief that the body can cure itself. Those who practice it use tiny amounts of natural substances, like plants and minerals. They believe these stimulate the healing process. It was developed in the late 1700s in Germany. A basic belief behind homeopathy is “like cures like.” In other words, something that brings on symptoms in a healthy person can — in a very small dose — treat an illness with similar symptoms. This is meant to trigger the body’s natural defenses. For example, red onion makes our eyes water. It is used in homeopathic remedies to cure allergies. Treatments for other ailments are made from poison ivy, white arsenic, crushed whole bees, and arnica, a natural herb. Homeopathy can be used for curing allergies, depression, migraine, chronic fatigue syndrome, Rheumatoid arthritis, irritable bowel syndrome and premenstrual syndrome and minor issues like bruises, scrapes, toothaches, headaches, nausea, coughs, and colds.
The increased demand for Homeopathy medicines
Dr. Aditi Bhatnagar says that people go for allopathy medicines in case of serious illnesses. But if we are talking about boosting our immunity, so that we don’t end up needing a ventilator in the first place, Homeopathy is the best alternative. There are many Allopathic doctors who themselves advise that to cure specific ailments, Homeopathy treatment should suffice.
Homeopathy is safe, no side effects
Homeopathy is the basis for a good immunity. Whenever there is any imbalance in our body, which leads to outwardly symptoms such as cold, cough, fever etc., it cab be effectively cured with Homeopathy by focussing on the root cause of the ailment. Homeopathy is based on plant, animals and minerals which are tested on human beings unlike Allopathy which is tested on animals. Homeopathy is safe, even for children unlike Allopathy which has many side effects. When a patient starts with Homeopathy treatment, the doctor tries to get the patient comfortable with the treatment and also address the cause. The psychological aspect of the ailment is also taken into consideration for treating the patient.
Alternative Therapies heal our chakras
Reiki and Yoga cater to cleansing and balancing our chakras. Each chakra is specifically connected to our body parts and it’s functioning. Any disturbance in the mental make up of it, creates a ripple effect on our chakras. Repeated issues within any of the chakras, manifests into diseases. For instance, if the heart chakra is blocked, we are likely to have problems in our relationships as well as lack self-love. Experts try to diagnose the bodily symptoms through Homeopathy, Allopathy, Naturopathy or Ayurveda but Reiki, Yoga, Meditation etc focusses on the cause i.e. chakra imbalance. In the last three months, many of Dr. Bhatnagar’s clients have approached her and undertaken courses in Reiki. Dr. Bhatnagar says that she could not imagine that although people have lost their jobs, facing pay cuts, panicking and scared about their future etc. yet they want to embrace the path of enlightenment and help others too.
Corporates are embracing alternative therapies
Corporates have also been investing into alternative healing modalities for their employees. Online meditation and yoga sessions are being conducted during the lockdown. Sadhguru and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar have been roped in by many corporates, for sharing their wisdom and spiritual practices. Dr. Bhatnagar stated that school teachers have learnt Reiki from her, during this lockdown. They have been passing the healing energy to their students during virtual classes, so that children can focus better on their studies.
The expert’s personal experience
Dr. Aditi Bhatnagar shares her own experience with Reiki for healing her sons who used to suffer from asthma in their childhood. Dr. Aditi Bhatnagar shared that since a cycle of asthma lasts for about 10 to 12 days, asthma patients are likely to puke often and it also weakens the appetite. However, Dr. Bhatnagar, apart from treating her sons asthma problem with Homeopathy, she also practiced Reiki and successfully cured them. While preparing the food, she would send Reiki with the intention that her sons would get all the nutrition from food. She would also give them Reiki every night, to make them physically and emotionally healthy.
