Heartbreak need not break you down! EFT can help!

A breakup causes heartbreak. It brings along a set of negative emotions like jealousy, abandonment, betrayal, low self-esteem, anger, resentment, sorrow, hopelessness and so on. Don’t let this break you down. Heartbreak can paralyze you emotionally and bring life to a standstill.

This simple yet very effective technique of EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) can lift your spirits and get you back on your feet.

Be it a physical pain or, as in this case, emotional distress, EFT, also known as tapping, can provide alternative healing.

Tapping gets the energy flowing

Our body is crisscrossed with energy pathways or meridians. When this energy flow along these meridians is disrupted it causes disease. EFT involves tapping on the end points of these meridians (refer pic) while saying affirmations that describe the physical pain or negative emotions that we are feeling and/or suffering from. Tapping can be done with two or three fingers with light pressure.

This removes the disruptions and restores normal energy flow in the body resulting in a feeling of wellbeing.

Follow these tapping steps to mend your heart

Yes, immediate relief from heartbreak is possible. First step is to measure the intensity of your heartbreak and note it on a scale of 0 to 10(highest). Now use one or more of the following affirmations with the remembrance phrase pairs that describe what you are feeling and begin tapping on the points.

Close your eyes and whilst tapping on the Karate Chop point, say the affirmation loudly three times. Then whilst saying the remembrance phase tap at each point starting with Top of Head(TOH), Eyebrow(EB), Side of Eye(SE), Under Eye(UE), Under Nose(UN), Chin(Ch), Collar Bone(CB), Under Arm(UA). Repeat this cycle once more.

Measure the intensity again and continue till it comes down further. You may tap several times a day.

  • Affirmation – Even though I feel that life is not worth living without him/her, I deeply and completely love and accept myself.

Remembrance phrase – Life without you

  • Affirmation – Even though I have been betrayed by my lover, I deeply and completely love and accept myself.

Remembrance phrase – My lover’s betrayal

  • Affirmation – Even though I feel hopeless now that he/she has left me, I deeply and completely love and accept myself.

Remembrance phrase – Life is hopeless without him/her

  • Affirmation – Even though I am very angry that he/she just ditched me, I deeply and completely love and accept myself.

Remembrance phrase – My anger at being ditched by him/her

  • Affirmation – Even though I am very jealous of his/her new love, I deeply and completely love and accept myself.

Remembrance phrase – My jealousy of his/her new love

  • Affirmation – Even though I am so lonely and sad without him/her, I deeply and completely love and accept myself.

Remembrance phrase – My loneliness and sorrow

  • Affirmation – Even though there is no purpose in my life without him/her , I deeply and completely love and accept myself.

Remembrance phrase – No purpose in life

Using any of the above affirmations that aptly describe your heartbreak, just tap away your heartbreak and become whole and happy once again. All thanks to this simple technique called EFT.
