Art has come to my rescue time and again. There were several instances at which I felt it is just an hobby and will fade away, but I have been proved wrong. From an education choice to a career choice I always neglected my interest but paints and brushes have embraced me during difficult times. Art has made life beautiful, days soulful, and made me see things from a very different angle.
I have learned painting from artist teachers in Mumbai, Pune & Delhi over weekends. I have studied modern and contemporary Indian Art from museums and galleries. But it was learning the spiritual art form of Thangka painting, from The Center for Living Buddhist Art in Dharamshala, that finally made art a way of experiencing life for me.
Since then, I have been sharing my learning and art as a process of rejuvenation, de-stressing, and discovering the inner-self through workshops with people across ages. Mandala, Sriyantra, Thangka are subjects of meditative artforms using different mediums such as ink on paper, acrylic on canvas, fabric, wood etc. Academic art topics such as landscape paintings, portraits, still life and florals to Indian art and craft are also familiar topics to explore.
